orn and bred in Atlanta, Brandon Carlton has taken the streetwear industry by storm since dropping his brand UGLY. An artist who garnished a following primarily through promoting his lifestyle, Brandon sought a means of consistently capitalizing on his fanbase.
That’s where we came in.
APPROACH
The idea was simple. “Monotone sweatsuits with duo-tone puff-print graphics ” he said.
WORK
// APPAREL DESIGN + PRODUCTION //
We collaborated to create a logo that embodied UGLY’s message of autonomy and empowerment. By combining text-based graphics with pigment-dyed garments, we produced seamlessly stylish products as striking as they are subtle.
The green sweatsuit features a golden-yellow half-tone oval with the letters 'UGLY' overlaid by the slogan "U Gotta Love Yourself" in white puff ink on the chest of the sweatshirt, and on the left hip of the sweatpants.

The black sweatsuit features a white oval with the slogan in baby-blue puff ink.

The collection truly encapsulates the UGLY lifestyle with design work that was strong, simple and to the point. Like Brandon himself, the collection reminded us that it’s not how much you say. It’s what you say.
RESULTS
Fans went crazy. Brandon sold out of every item so quickly that there were plenty of fans leftover still fiending. Brandon obliged and released the sweatsuits in a few additional colorways to keep his fans fixed until his next drop in Spring.
And just like that, the next name in streetwear was born.
